Coach Adam Dorrel and the Central Oklahoma football team wraps up spring ball this weekend with its annual spring football game.

Starting at 6 P.M. on Friday, April 26, the scrimmage will be played at UCO’s Chad Richison Stadium following the inauguration of new school president Todd G. Lamb. Lamb will also be honored during the game itself.

The Bronchos will be split into two teams and compete against each other in a four-quarter, intrasquad scrimmage meant to simulate a real game. Score will be kept like a normal game and players are expected to tackle to the ground, save for quarterbacks.

The spring game marks the end of spring practices for UCO. Players will then be off until offseason workouts begin this summer and fall camp starts back up in August.

Four former Edmond-area athletes are set to play in Friday’s scrimmage; Edmond Memorial defensive lineman Jordan Ferguson, Memorial wide receiver Logan Grayson, Edmond North tight end Jonathan Sauer and Deer Creek punter Grayson Miller.

The Bronchos had six local signees for the class of 2024 who have yet to arrive on campus, so they won’t be participating Friday.

UCO finished with a record of 5-6 in 2023 with notable wins over Nebraska Kearney and Missouri Southern, as well as a rivalry victory over Northeastern State in the President’s Cup.

Admission for the spring game is free to the public, with live entertainment being provided as well as concessions throughout the stadium. The game will start at 6 P.M. Friday inside Chad Richison Stadium.
