The University of Central Oklahoma announced Wednesday it will temporarily not allow spectators at any of its upcoming athletic events through Jan. 31 in accordance with the latest university protocol regarding COVID-19 and the health and safety of faculty, staff, students, and fans. Following its COVID-19 decision-making framework for campus operations, the university is temporarily shifting to Level 4 in light of the recent surge in reported cases of COVID-19 and COVID-19 related hospitalizations and deaths in Oklahoma County.

UCO is scheduled to host two basketball games Thursday against Central Missouri, three wrestling duals Friday featuring the Bronchos, Emmanuel (Ga.) and Ouachita Baptist, and one more women's basketball game Saturday against Lincoln.

Fans who already purchased tickets to any of those events, or any other upcoming events in January, may call the UCO ticket office (405-974-2140) for more information on refunds.

The changes for athletic events are effective immediately and will run through Jan. 31. The situation will be reassessed to consider whether or not the changes should be extended. An announcement will be made at that time on bronchosports.com.
