North Leads Edmond Schools in COAC Girls' Awards

The Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference (COAC) released its girls’ basketball all-conference honors this week.

Edmond North finished the season as conference runner-up behind state champion Norman. Sophomores Laci Steele and Elle Papahronis were named offensive and defensive players of the year, respectively.

Junior Toni Papahronis and Deer Creek senior Angel Scott join them as 1st team all-conference members.

Edmond Memorial sophomore Baylor Franz was named 2nd team all-conference.

Lady Huskies Ataya Casaus and Allison Heathcock were named all-conference honorable mention. They are joined by Edmond Santa Fe’s Brooklyn Long, Jerney Bennett, Kashell Daughty and Jayda Holliman; Memorial’s Isabel Langenberg, Lexi Hensley, Addy Johnson, Makenna Hall, Lauren Hjelmstad and AuShee Farris; and Deer Creek’s Jenna Marshall, Madie Cooper, Allie Hardzog and Rachel Kate Puckett.

All four Edmond COAC members reached area tournaments this year. North reached the state tournament and finished as a state semifinalist.
