The high school soccer regular season finishes this week, and district titles, hosting rights and playoff spots are on the line for Edmond schools.

Tuesday night is a big night for Edmond soccer with two teams seeking titles and another seeking a playoff bid. The Oklahoma Christian School girls (13-0 overall, 6-0 district) host Heritage Hall (9-0, 6-0) in the district finale. Both teams will host a first-round playoff game, but this showdown of unbeatens will decide the district champion.

The boys’ teams will play after. The winner will finish third, and the loser will finish fourth.

Elsewhere, the Edmond North girls (8-3, 5-1) face U.S. Grant (0-10, 0-6). Since the Lady Huskies already defeated first-place Westmoore, a North win would mean a district championship. When the boys play afterward, everything will be on the line.

The Huskies and Generals both enter the contest with 4-2 district records. If the Huskies win, they finish second and host a first-round playoff game due to having the tiebreaker over Westmoore. If the Huskies fall to Grant, they would miss the playoffs entirely thanks to a previous loss to Southmoore. Grant’s tiebreakers are the opposite, so the Generals will make the playoffs but will not host no matter what.

The Edmond Memorial boys (7-4, 4-2) make up their postponed game against Union (9-4, 4-2) on Thursday. That game, as well as others elsewhere in the district, will have massive implications. Like North, the Bulldogs can finish as high as second and host or as low as fifth and miss the playoffs.

Memorial, Union and Booker T. Washington are all tied at 4-2. Sand Springs is 3-2. Sand Springs plays last-place Moore on Thursday before facing BTW on Friday. Each of these games affect Memorial. The Bulldogs beat BTW but lost to the Sandites, so win or lose, Memorial would rather tie with the Yellow Jackets than Sand Springs.

If Memorial beats Union, the Bulldogs finish second if Sand Springs loses a game. If Sand Springs and Memorial both win out, the Sandites finish second, and Memorial finishes third.

If the Bulldogs lose, they need help to qualify. If Sand Springs loses both its games or beats BTW, Memorial is in with a fourth-place finish.

If Memorial loses and Sand Springs beats Moore but loses to BTW, then the Bulldogs miss the playoffs.

The Memorial girls have a more relaxed week ahead. The Lady Bulldogs have no scheduled games and have already clinched third place.

Meanwhile, the Edmond Santa Fe girls concluded the regular season Monday night with a 1-0 win at Norman. The Lady Wolves clinched their district’s final playoff spot while eliminating the Lady Tigers. The Santa Fe boys will miss the playoffs after finishing seventh.

Deer Creek has also finished the regular season. The boys swept district play to claim the title, while the girls finished second. The Lady Antlers’ only district loss came in overtime to undefeated district champion Norman North.

The 3A playoffs begin May 3, while the 6A playoffs start May 4.
