BROKEN ARROW - The Edmond North boys’ golf team won the 6A state title Tuesday at Forest Ridge Golf Club in Broken Arrow after inclement weather canceled the final round.

The Huskies finished first with a score of 593, well ahead of second-place Jenks’ 607.

This is North’s 17th state title in boys’ golf. The Huskies have won all but two of the state titles awarded since 2005.

Edmond Santa Fe finished eighth with a score of 637, followed by Edmond Memorial’s 647. Deer Creek finished 12th with a 666.

North finished the first round Monday tied with Stillwater at 299. North improved its score in the second round with a 294, but Stillwater fell behind, golfing a 319.

The third round was underway Tuesday when the rain began, eventually forcing play to halt. After a delay, the remainder of the tournament was canceled. Since the third round did not complete, only scores from the first two rounds counted.

North’s Jordan Wilson finished second in the individual standings after a two-round score of 141, one stroke behind state champion Ben Stoller from Owasso.
