Dorothy "Dolly" Janet Billen

Dorothy "Dolly" Janet Billen, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 12, 2022, in Edmond, Oklahoma.  She was born July 7, 1935 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Edward & Dorothy Beers. She graduated from Canoga Park High School Los Angeles in 1953. Dorothy married the love of her life, Glenn Billen, on April 9, 1954 in Burbank, California.  In 1971, they moved their family to Edmond, Oklahoma from Thousand Oaks, California.  Dorothy retired from Edmond Public Schools in 2006 after working many years in food service.  She had a passion for horses, oil painting, bird watching, and taking care of all her indoor/outdoor plants.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Beers; her husband Glenn Billen;  her son Tony Billen;  her granddaughter Adrienne Billen;  her brother Arden Beers;  Her dog and best friend Doby;  and several other relatives and friends.  Dorothy is survived by her sons Bob Billen & Wife Colleen of Cimarron City, Oklahoma; Bill Billen & wife Karla of Topeka, Kansas;  David Billen & wife Kathy of Edmond, Oklahoma;  Matthew Billen & wife Jamie of Edmond, Oklahoma;  Her Brother Timothy Baker and wife Carlene of Medford, Oregon;  Along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the passionate care provided by Mercy Hospice nurses and staff during her battle with cancer.  A celebration of life will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, July 23rd at Cashion First Baptist Church in Cashion, Oklahoma.
