TULSA, Okla. – The Holberton School, a tuition-deferred college alternative for training software engineers, today announced the addition of three new programs to its 2021-2022 course offerings, including Computer Science and Front-End Web Development, Computer Science and Back-End Web Development and Computer Science and DevOps Engineering. Students who enroll in the next Holberton Tulsa cohort, which starts June 7, will be eligible for these new programs, which can be completed in just 12 months.

“Through the addition of these programs, students will have the opportunity to develop skills that are in high demand throughout the tech industry, while earning a robust software engineering diploma in 12 months,” said Libby Ediger, Holberton Tulsa Executive Director. “Additionally, Oklahoma students can receive a Holberton education anywhere in the state, thanks to continued distance learning opportunities. At Holberton Tulsa, we want to remove barriers to receiving a high-quality education, so students can learn when, where, and how they need to.”

Holberton Tulsa’s new program offerings include:

  • Computer Science and Front-End Web Development. Students will learn to convert data in ways users can view and interact with it through web applications and websites. Through this program, they will become comfortable using UTML, CSS and JavaScript.

  • Computer Science and Back-end Web Development. Students will learn how to create, maintain and improve web applications and APIs, by becoming well-versed in NodeJS, NoSQL, Redis, personal data, authentication and more.

  • Computer Science and DevOps Engineering. Students will learn how to deploy and maintain scalable web infrastructure for high-trafficking platforms, and gain familiarity with CI/CD, Cloud providers, network security, logging and monitoring.

“We are excited to introduce new programs with shorter completion times to entice even more individuals to come and further their software engineering education,” added Ediger. “We welcomed our first Holberton Tulsa cohort in January 2020 and are preparing to celebrate their completion of the program in September of this year. They will leave Holberton with the skills necessary to succeed in today’s tech environment, as well as connections to top tech companies to help them land a high-paying job after graduation.”

Holberton’s innovative, Silicon Valley-developed curriculum provides those with or without prior coding experience the opportunity to learn a mix of new program offerings, so students complete the program ready to contribute to the U.S.’ booming tech industry.

Those interested in being part of the June 7 cohort can apply online through May 31. The application process takes approximately two to three weeks to complete. Holberton applications are open to those over the age of 18 with a high school or general equivalency degree.
