Edmond Fire and Police Hold September 11th Memorial Event

Edmond, OK, September 9, 2021 – In recognition of the 20th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Edmond Fire and Police will hold a Memorial Stair Climb and 5K. To take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 7:46 A.M. to 9:28 A.M. (symbolizing the time the first tower was struck to the time the second tower fell, EST). 

 

The event is free, and open to the public, and will be held at the Edmond North High School Football Stadium. (215 W. Danforth Rd.) 

 

Participants can choose from a 110 story (2,071 step) climb on the stadium bleachers with members of the Edmond Fire Department, or a 5K walk/run on the stadium track with members of the Edmond Police Department. 

 

The Edmond Fire and Police Departments would also like to extend a special invitation to members from other law enforcement agencies, branches of the military, and fire departments. Any of those men and women who attend are encouraged to participate wearing their uniforms and gear to honor all first responders who answered the call that day 20 years ago.
