A suspect was arrested Thursday night by Edmond Police Detectives for a shooting death Wednesday at the Wing Stop restaurant located at 3320 South Broadway in Edmond.
Brandon Lee Houston, 22, was placed under arrest in Oklahoma City for First Degree Murder. Detectives do not consider this a random act, and say that Johnson was Houston's apparent intended target.
According to the Edmond Police Department, Wednesday, June 28, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a male subject opened the front door of the Wing Stop restaurant on 3320 S. Broadway, pointed a handgun inside, and fired into the building, striking one male employee.
According to Edmond Police, the victim then ran through the restaurant to the back door and collapsed outside.
According to a 911 call, the suspect fired multiple shots into the restaurant.
“Somebody just shot up Wing Stop,” the 911 caller said. “One of the employees got hit. I was pulling out (of parking lot), and this dude pulled up, opened the door, and shot like five times.”
Responding officers administered CPR until EMSA arrived. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim, 22-year-old Dorian Jamil Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. No other people were injured.
Edmond Police worked into the night, and throughout the next day to identify, locate and apprehend the suspect.
