Delta Dental of Oklahoma Awards Scholarship to Edmond Student

Delta Dental of Oklahoma (DDOK) and the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Foundation recently announced its scholarship fund recipients at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry (OUCOD) for the 2022-2023 academic year. Scholarships totaling $108,000 were awarded to outstanding dental and dental hygiene students who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to the community. Amisha Bhatt, a second-year OUCOD dental hygiene student and Edmond resident, is one of four (4) dental hygiene students receiving a $2,000 scholarship this year.

“Supporting the education of future dental professionals is vital to our organization’s not-for-profit mission to improve access to dental care in our state,” said John Gladden, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Oklahoma. “We look forward to the valuable contributions these recipients will make in the lives of their patients and communities.”

In addition to the $2,000 scholarships for dental hygiene students, DDOK and its Foundation also awarded $10,000 scholarships to 10 dental students at OUCOD. With Amisha and the other 2022-2023 recipients included, the Delta Dental of Oklahoma scholarship fund has provided $1,117,000 in scholarships to 209 students at the OU College of Dentistry since 2001.
