Come rain or shine this Saturday will be busy morning to night with events in downtown Edmond.

The Farmer’s Market Opening Day will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Festival Market place between W First Street and Edmond Road Saturday morning.

Since 1988 the Farmer’s Market has been a premier spot for Oklahoma farmers to sell their crops directly to consumers. Over the years the market has expanded to gardeners, bakers, food manufacturers, ranchers, and artisans.

This year the market is boasting 71 vendors of 100% Oklahoma Grown, Made and manufactured goods. All vendors meet specific criteria before being considered a market vendor.

Get there early and you can snag this year’s canvas market tote while supplies last.

Okie Artistry Face Painting will be at the market from 9 a.m. to noon to ensure the kiddos enjoy the morning too!

Menu plan and pick up next week’s line-up at this truly one-stop-shop experience for locally sourced, healthy, and fresh food.

Next, run home to put the goodies you gathered at the farmers market away and return for the evening of Heard on Hurd from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There will be over 60 food trucks and vendors promoting their local businesses, so everyone is bound to find more to add to their morning treasures and of course fill their bellies.

Live entertainment will close out the night with the talents of three local musicians. Cherry Laurel will open on the stage at 6 p.m., followed by Easier at 7:20 p.m. and Chelsea Days will close out the entertainment taking the stage at 8:40 p.m.

“This family-friendly festival has become synonymous with community, great food, and live entertainment. We hope to revitalize this beloved event with monthly themes for all to enjoy, including carrying out those themes with participation from local businesses. We hope you’ll come out to celebrate local food, local musicians, and local businesses,” said Jennifer Wallis, Chief Impact Officer of Citizens Bank of Edmond.
