Oklahoma Senior Follies Reimagined!

My name is Dot Liles.  I attended UCO when it was CSC.  I lived in the dorms back in the late 60’s.  I worked for the Student Activities Director, Dudley Ryan.  There were three of us and they referred to us as “Dudley’s Angels.”  So many wonderful memories!  I still have the rules and regulations book from when I was living in Murdaugh Hall.  We were required to be in early at night and had a mandatory study period before lights out.  Times have changed so much since then.

I am so thrilled every time I get to return to my Alma Mater to perform on stage at the Mitchell Hall Theater.  This will be my second time performing there.  I am honored to be one of eight beauties.  We recently did a photoshoot!  The hair, makeup, and gowns were to die for.   I am also performing in a duet.  Hattie Santore and I are going to be singing “We’re Just Two Little Girls from Little Rock.”   As a child, it was my dream to entertain people.  I put my dreams aside until I was a senior.  Now I am in my second career and am having as much fun as I did when I was a little girl playing dress-up.  I am happy to be a part of a fabulous show.  There will be singers, dancers, and comedy!  We also are blessed to have special performances by OKC Chorus (Sweet Adelines), the Tarpley Tappers, and Barbara DeMaio, Opera Star.  Our goal is to uplift seniors and contribute to senior causes (Alzheimer’s Association).  I can hardly wait until opening night.

I am hoping everyone will come to see us on June 8th at 3 p.m. or June 9th at 7:00 p.m.    Our Directors, Gina Bramlett, Michael Pone, and Music Director, Matthew Jones, the Board, and the cast are working hard to make this a memorable show, not only for the seniors but also for all age groups.   Oh me, oh my—it’s time to go practice!
