Oklahoma Christian School’s girls’ soccer team continued their winning ways Thursday as they welcomed Harding Charter Prep to town for a Class 4A showdown.

It was a career night for Saints’ forward Blair Rowlett, who scored a whopping five out of the team’s six goals as OCS won comfortably over the Eagles, 6-0.

Rowlett’s first two scores came back-to-back in the first half. After a penalty on Harding in the 32nd minute, the sophomore beamed a free kick from the left side of the field over the defenders and past the goalkeeper. The kick curved into the top right corner of the net and gave OCS the 1-0 advantage.

Just a minute later, Rowlett scored again after getting an assist from Sheridan Piercey on a fast break. Piercey found Rowlett streaking up the middle of the field and sailed a pass perfectly to land at her teammate’s feet.

The Saints led 2-0 at the half after dominating the first period of play. The ball spent most of its time in Harding’s half and the Eagles had yet to attempt a shot on the other end.

Senior Hailey Nesselrode extended the Saints’ lead to 3-0 just two minutes into the second half when a pass from her teammate set her up perfectly for a shot at the net from center field. Her right-footed strike sailed past the hapless Eagles’ keeper and just under the crossbar for the score.

OCS finished with 15 shot attempts on the night to Harding Charter’s one. Twelve of those attempts were on target as the Saints’ offense was relentless all night.

Rowlett found the back of the net for a third time after controlling the ball near the top of the Eagles’ penalty box and putting in another right-footed strike, making it 4-0 Saints in the 49th minute to give the sophomore the hat trick.

Harding Charter’s first and only shot attempt of the game finally came in the 62nd minute when the visitors got their best goal opportunity on a free kick, only for the ball to miss wide right.

The two teams went back and forth through much of the second half until Rowlett put the bow on top of an already spectacular performance. She scored in the 73rd and 74th minutes to give her five goals on the night and give OCS the 6-0 victory.

The Saints improved to 3-1 with the dominant win and have won three-straight since falling in their season opener to Community Christian. They surpassed their season-high goal total after just one game, previously scoring five against Cushing on Tuesday, March 26. Next up, the team hosts Elk City on Tuesday, April 2.
