Former Edmond Memorial basketball player Sean Pedulla could potentially be looking for a new home next season as the Virginia Tech University star announced his decision to enter the transfer portal Wednesday.

After helping lead the Hokies to a 19-15 record on the season and the second round of the 2024 NIT Tournament, the junior guard is back on the market. Pedulla also entertained the possibility of returning to his current team for his senior year.

Pedulla made the announcement via Twitter Wednesday morning:

“I will be entering the transfer portal while strongly considering a return to Virginia Tech for my last year.”

Pedulla enters the portal with one year of eligibility after spending the last three seasons with the Hokies. Over those three years, he averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 35% from three.

As a junior this season, Pedulla led Virginia Tech in scoring at 16.4 points per game and assists with 4.2 per game, becoming one of the premier guards in all of college basketball. He ushered the Hokies to a runner-up finish in the ACC conference tournament and to the NIT Tournament quarterfinals, where they fell to Ohio State.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound hooper was named to the 2023-2024 All-ACC third team this season as one of the top players in the conference.

Pedulla came out of Edmond Memorial High School as a three-star combo guard and the 165th-best prospect in the country, according to 247Sports. He earned two All-State selections while playing for head coach Shane Cowherd and led the Bulldogs to three Class 6A state tournament appearances from 2019 to 2021.

Sean is the older brother of current Memorial basketball players, Ciaran and DJ. Ciaran just wrapped up his senior season for EMHS, while DJ is still a sophomore.
