The Way’s George McCormick picks the 2023-2024 All-Edmond Boys Basketball team from Edmond-area high schools including Edmond Public Schools, Deer Creek, and Oklahoma Christian School.
From state championships to record-breaking performances, the 2023-2024 high school basketball season saw some of the best hoops action in the entire state right here in Edmond.
Now high school basketball is officially wrapped up in Oklahoma, McCormick put together selections for the 2023-2024 All-Edmond basketball teams.
The criteria used for my selections consisted mainly of season stats and postseason awards, as well as my own assessment of players as someone who covered each school extensively throughout the season.
The Edmond Way’s official 2023-2024 All-Edmond Boys basketball team:
Starters
Luke Gray - F, Oklahoma Christian School
The leading scorer on a state champion Saints team, Luke Gray emerged as one of the best and most difficult to stop hoopers in the entire state. He finished the season averaging 21.8 points and 11.4 rebounds per game while helping lead OCS to its first state title since 2007.
On top of everything else, the towering senior joined the 2,000-point club and became the Saints’ all-time leading scorer this season at 2,019 points. He ended his high school career by scoring 22 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in the team’s state championship win over Millwood.
Dylan Warlick - F, Edmond North
Senior big man Dylan Warlick showed everyone why he is a Power Five-level athlete in his final season with Edmond North. He led the Huskies with 16.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while finishing his high school career as a two-time 6A state champion. Warlick led the team in total rebounds by nearly 100 and was second in assists.
The University of Wyoming-pledge ended his senior year with District 6A-1 first team honors as well as earning District Player of the Year.
Chiante’ Tramble - G, Edmond North
The Huskies’ floor general and deadly sharpshooter, senior Chiante’ Tramble was the lightning to Dylan Warlick’s thunder this season. His cool demeanor and ability to score from anywhere on the court helped Edmond North reach the Class 6A state championship game for the third-straight year.
Tramble was second on the team with 13 points per game while shooting at a 41% clip from three. He led the team in assists with 3.4 per game and was awarded District 6A-1 first team honors.
Carson Jones - F, Oklahoma Christian School
Another one of OCS’ senior stars this season, Carson Jones capped off an impressive high school basketball career by averaging 16.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and nearly two steals per game while helping lead OCS to a state title win in his final season.
Jones was named to the Class 3A All-Tournament team following his monster postseason play. Following graduation, he’ll play his college ball at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Clyde Davis Jr. - G, Deer Creek
The Deer Creek Antlers made an impressive run to the Class 6A state tournament after going 21-5 during the regular season, and much of that success can be attributed to junior Clyde Davis Jr.
The third-year guard led Deer Creek with 15.1 points per game while averaging five rebounds from his point guard position. His sheer quickness made him tough to deal with for opposing teams on both offense and defense, and he could score from wherever he wanted. Davis Jr. was awarded District 6A-1 second team honors after helping lead the Antlers to 6A state quarterfinals.
6th Man
Nik Rhodes - G, Edmond Santa Fe
Coming in first off the bench is Edmond Santa Fe sharpshooter Nik Rhodes, who averaged 11.8 points per game to lead the Wolves on a stellar 46% from behind the arc. He also led the team in free throw shooting at over 84% from the charity strike, proving himself as one of the best pure shooters in the state.
Head Coach
Brandon Weaver, Oklahoma Christian School
Saints’ head coach Brandon Weaver led his team to the program’s eighth state championship and first since 2007, finishing 26-2 on the season. OCS turned in one of the best seasons in school history thanks to Weaver’s coaching acumen as well as his leadership over his excellent senior class.
Honorable Mentions: Hudson Franz (Edmond Memorial), Hudson Linsenmeyer (Deer Creek), Kyler Brown (Oklahoma Christian School), Drelen Nero (Edmond Memorial), Zayden Best (Edmond Santa Fe), Bryce Potts (Edmond North), Mason Greer (Oklahoma Christian Academy).
